Freeform Idea - Idea Info

image

The Idea Info tab is where you can input a basic overview for your idea page. This is the first info people will see when you share an idea page with someone or they view it while browsing.

image

The Idea Title will be the title your idea is listed under on Umergence. You can change it if you need to, but since it affects the page, you may want to choose it carefully. Try to think of something clear and memorable.

The Thumbnail Image will be displayed on the idea page in the top left corner and be one of the first things visitors to the page will see. If you have a logo, this will be a great place to use it. Click the button to upload an image and adjust the sizing or crop in the editor that pops up. A thumbnail image is optional, but highly recommended to make a page look more professional. You can always change it later.

The Cover Image is the main image that will display on an idea page as its banner. This will be what visitors see when browsing and when they visit your idea page. It is optional, but highly recommended to make the page look professional. Click the button to upload an image and adjust the sizing or crop in the editor that pops up. Because the image will be displayed in a rectangular field, good choices are images where a wide rectangular ratio will be attractive. Try to pick something visually appealing and if you’re not sure, use an image of a color or design as a placeholder. You can always change it later.

The Short Description is your one or two-line summary of the purpose of your idea page – what exactly is your goal? Be clear and concise because this field is limited to 140 characters. The shorter you can be, the better.

image

The Full Description field gives you more space to expand on your short description. This will be the first summary people read about your idea when they visit the page. You can expand on specific aspects through the individual sections you create for the page in the next steps of this guide.

Tag Names are subject tags to help people find your page when they search (if you decide to make it public). You can add several, but the first few should be the most important and specific subject tags that relate to your page. Start typing the tag in the box and hit enter to save it. You can remove tags by clicking the “x” displayed on the tag after it’s accepted into the box.

When you’re ready, click Save and Continue to move on to the next step of the builder.
